Our Farming Journey
Lady Bird Farms, located in the Village of Buckley, Michigan, is dedicated to growing and selling gourmet mushrooms, vegetables, fruit, eggs, and more. Our farm currently caters to individuals and restaurants seeking fresh, quality produce.
Farm owner Eyvonne, began researching and growing mushrooms in 2019 after trying to find ways to stay busy during the winter and keep her gardening cravings at bay. What initially began as just fun and interest soon evolved into a hobby, then a DBA in 2022 and now officially an LLC in 2025. Eyvonne enjoys all aspects of farming, such as spending time with the animals, getting her hands dirty in the garden, and the care that goes into making it all happen.
Our name and logo is inspired by the owners loyal companion "Lady Bird" who is a very loving Rottweiler, Collie, Shepard Mix. You might see her while visiting, she is a gentle, sweet girl. The hatted farmer figure represents family, friends, and farmers that have supported Eyvonne's journey that brought her to where she is today. Lady Bird Beetles aka (Lady Bugs) have also played a role in Eyvonne's life. Not only being her favorite bug, they've also always seemed to symbolically appear at times of importance.
The homestead comprises currently of a french potager style kitchen garden for vegetables and herbs. Landscaped gardens are still a work in progress so please disregard the mess! The property also has a modest flock of laying hens with seasonal meat chickens. Some things that we hope to bring to the farm in the future is homemade metal works, woodwork, and meat products once we have a USDA approved processing facility and other crafts.
